CURRICULAR & IQ CLUB

“Much is made of a person’s intelligence quotient (IQ).” Following this, the college runs a Curricular & I.Q Club that functions specifically for the enhancement of students I.Q. and to improve their potential for academic achievements and to make them aware of their hidden abilities and aptitude, along with maximization of their skills. It also helps the student to identify their academic interests for the future career.

Workshop Report: Financial Literacy and Planning

Date: September 26, 2024

The Curricular and IQ Club of Prakash Degree College of Commerce organized a workshop on “Financial Literacy and Planning” for first-year degree students (F.Y.Bcom, F.Y. BAF, F.Y.BMS) on September 26, 2024, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Hiral Trivedi Pathak, Ph.D. (Commerce), Financial Trainer, Counsellor, Spiritual Practitioner, and SEBI Smart Trainer.

Participation: 72 students attended the workshop.

Objective: To empower students with financial independence by equipping them with essential knowledge on budgeting, saving, and investing.

Session Highlights:

  • ⁠Savings and investment strategies
  • Investment avenues and options
  • Do’s and Don’ts of investing
  • ⁠Mutual funds and portfolio management

Outcomes: The interactive session provided students with a foundational understanding of investment options and financial markets, enabling them to make informed decisions about their finances.

I.T QUIZ COMPETITION 2016-17
Keeping pace with the competitive world around us and with a view of sharpening the brains of students with technology, the club organized an I.T Quiz. The quiz had altogether 3 rounds, clearance of each led students towards winning the quiz and enhancing their I.T knowledge.

WORLD POPULATION DAY  2016-17
11TH July is celebrated as World Population day worldwide. Prakash College also celebrated the World Population day by creating awareness among the masses about the exploding population year by year. The aim behind celebrating this day is to protect and empower the youth of both genders and to offer them detail knowledge about the sexuality and delay marriages till they become able to understand their responsibilities. Students prepared posters, articles, and poems. The day ended peacefully and the aim was successfully achieved.

GRAMMAR QUIZ 2015-16
Keeping up in pace with the competitive world, the Curricular & I.Q. Club organized a Grammar Quiz on 5TH Dec 2015, highlighting communication as an integral part of human activity. It made students interact with each other and involved sharing of ideas and information between participants. The aim was fulfilled as students grasped that grammatical competence is also a part of the language competence.  Enhancing accuracy of grammar is very important in a language. It is the glue that holds the pieces of language together.

SUBJECT QUIZ COMPETITION 2015-16
The I.Q. & Curricular club had organized “SUBJECT QUIZ” for students of F.Y.J.C & S.Y.J.C Commerce & Science. The Subject Quiz was conducted in order to sharpen the horizon of the students and assist them to be focused on their respective academics by accumulating knowledge to the core. The students diligently participated in the quiz and immensely rejoiced over their efforts and sheer preparation towards their respective subjects.

AD MAKING COMPETITION 2015-16
In order to enhance the thinking power, creativity and innovation power of the students Curricular & I.Q. club had organized “AD MAKING” competition on 21st Sep 2015, for all the sessions. There was an Overwhelming response from the students.

LOGO DESIGNING COMPETITION 2015-16
The club organized this competition on 31st Aug, 2015 in order to enhance and develop the imagination skills of students by providing them a platform, whereby they displayed their unique ideas, innovations in the form of the logo designed by them.

HIROSHIMA & NAGASAKI DAY 2015-16
The day is remembered every year on 4th August 2015, by showing a PowerPoint presentation to students in all sessions, since India continues to grow as a military superpower armed with nuclear weapons, the observation of Hiroshima & Nagasaki Day becomes more widespread and serves as a reminder of the devastations of nuclear attacks. The main aim is to teach students to learn to praise human life & to treat human lives with the respect they deserve. Most important is to learn to live, and live peacefully.
